Wide Variety of Merit Badges and Activities

Camp Klaus offers over forty different merit badges, ten of which are required for the rank of Eagle Scout. Our combination of open and scheduled merit badges ensures each Scout has the opportunity to earn as many merit badges as they wish while at camp. We also offer countless other programs throughout the day, ranging from ultimate frisbee to chess. Some of our more unique programs, including mountainboarding and photography, have proven especially popular. All our programs are "Challenge by Choice" - we'll encourage your Scouts to expand their horizons, but their level of participation is up to them.

Camp Klaus is a small camp, featuring about a 4:1 Scout:staff ratio. The staff prides themselves on really getting to know our campers, giving them a weeklong experience that won't soon be forgotten. At Camp Klaus, your Scouts will meet new friends while relaxing and just being themselves. This personal attention also aides in the learning process, helping each Scout to better understand and retain information presented in their classes, all while earning more merit badges and participating in more activities.

care

We Really, Truly Care

The thing that sets Camp Klaus apart from others is that our staff truly cares about every Scout and visitor that comes through our gate. This is something that can't be taught - it's something that is inherent in every person we hire. To get a better idea of this, please see Michael Brandwein's "A letter to my child's staff person..." - it's what we live by.
